Job Description

NBCUniversal is seeking a Communications Designer who is passionate about using their design skills to communicate new and complex strategies. You will be responsible for creating presentations and discussion documents for both internal departmental use, executive briefings, and client-facing engagements. You will work with employees across the enterprise supporting the Business Continuity/Crisis Management (BC/CM) and News Group Operations & Technology (NGOT) teams, including team leadership on a regular basis, and will need to develop an understanding of each team’s projects and programs. The BC/CM team is responsible for crisis management coordination and business continuity strategy and plan development across the NBCUniversal portfolio. The NGOT team is responsible for technology and engineering strategies across NBC News Group.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Own the development and building of the BC/CM & NGOT Long Range Plans, working closely with team leaders and with Finance. Ensure consistent design, language, and themes of the plan throughout all other presentations throughout the year
  • Develop client-facing presentations explaining BC/CM & NGOT strategies to improve resiliency or operations
  • Collaborate with other team members on monthly operating reviews, highlighting department performance
  • Synthesize operational data into analytical visualizations
  • Collaborate with team members on employee Town Halls
  • Collaborate with team members to create documents highlighting department initiatives, successes, and upcoming projects
  • Manage presentation and updating of department content on company Intranet site

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field required
  • 2+ years of content design & development experience required; previous experience writing about a variety of topics and for diverse audiences preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and problem-solving skills required; knowledge of AP Style a plus
  • Previous experience in a communications or marketing firm or technology company helpful
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills required
  • Ability to understand how to adapt content and voice for different audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery of quality content
  • HTML or content management tool experience a plus
  • Strong PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills required
  • Experience with JIRA or other project management platform preferred
  • Experience with WordPress or other web platforms preferred
  • Advanced level experience with Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop or other graphic design software
  • Interested candidate must provide a link to his or her portfolio
