Job Description
The Vice President of Human Resources is an expert in Human Resources and a strategic partner to the Harwood Hospitality Group to ensure the alignment of the people strategies with the business unit objectives. This leader must support a large area of the business and build strong relationships with key senior stakeholders. They must be seen as a trusted advisor to the business who is commercially aware with a strong internal brand. Experienced HR business partners work at a strategic level, possessing business literacy about how to build a strong culture that supports financial and operational objectives. This position will be expected to drive and implement HR initiatives to increase organizational effectiveness, build capability and talent of workforce and team, and lead strategy and tactics to positively impact overall business performance and HR metrics.
- Demonstrates high level of core HR skill/knowledge and technical knowledge of HR requirements.
- Collaborates with Hospitality leadership to understand business strategies and objectives and to establish HR strategies and tactics that will complement and assist in execution of those business objectives.
- Proactively engages on talent management agenda: Attrition, Retention, Recruiting, Succession planning, Professional development, Performance, and Leadership development. Keen focus on training, learning, development, and employee engagement.
- Primary focus on recruitment of senior corporate roles.
- Builds strong, credible relationships and is seen as an effective member of the P+C Leadership team and advocate to the P+C Leadership Team for the Hospitality employees.
- Partners with leadership in the delivery of HR services, consults with the business leaders by providing HR guidance when appropriate utilizing strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Develops and delivers onboarding and facility orientation programs.
- Responsible for Performance Management and Exit processes as well as Roundtable Process management in conjunction with Performance Reviews
- Works with key hospitality leaders on workforce planning, including position control/review, alignment with budget, productivity metrics, resourcing processes, etc.
- Directs and carries out policies, process and procedures relating to HR activities.
Requirements
Required Education & Experience
- 7-10 years’ experience at HR Manager level or above
- Specific HR experience in the hotel and restaurant industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Preferred Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
- SHRM certification
- Fluency in Spanish a plus (reading, writing and speaking)
