Description
The Youth Sports Staff is responsible for providing a fun and positive learning environment for youth participants in sports programs.

- Ready sites 15 minutes prior to the program’s scheduled start time.
- Maintain control of games and instruction sessions.
- Officiate the game to the best of your ability and by following the rules set forth by Basin Recreation.
- Assist players in an emergency such as illness or injury.
- Set a good example for players and others, including appropriate dress, cleanliness, punctuality, and good sportsmanship.
- Assist in cleaning up the sites after games.

Working Conditions, Physical Requirements, and Aptitudes
- Duties are performed indoors and outdoors, including working in inclement weather, and extreme temperatures.
- Duties are primarily performed in a public setting, requiring constant interaction with a variety of people.
- Work effectively with crowds, uncooperative participants during difficult situations, emergency response, and periods of continuous demand.
- Work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays depending on department needs.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 14 years of age or older.
- CPR and First Aid certifications within one (1) month of hire.
The successful applicant must pass a required pre-employment background check and subsequent mandatory background checks in accordance with current District policy requirements.
Preferred but not required:
- Direct experience working with children.
- Knowledge of sports or the desire to learn.
Supplemental Information
Projected start date is 8/14/23. Sports are Soccer, Tennis, Flag Football, Basketball, Volleyball, and Biking.
Part-time and seasonal employees receive a free membership to the Fieldhouse during employment.
