We are recruiting to fill a Juvenile Administrative Support I that isadministrative support staff position performing basic receptionist, clerical and legal support work in a Juvenile Office.
Work involves performing general legal secretarial and clerical duties for a Juvenile Office. Work requires the exercise of initiative, independent judgment and discretion in handling delegated details and the performance of various support duties. Instructions are received from a superior on new assignments and policy matters, and advice and assistance are normally available. Work is generally reviewed by a superior upon completion for adherence to established policies, procedures and results obtained.
Other key responsibilities include: (Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties which may be performed.)
- Drafts correspondence, legal documents, memoranda and motions and other materials from copy or notes.
- Screens and refers callers and visitors, answers various inquiries personally and provides information on the Juvenile Office; maintains appointment schedules and electronic calendars.
- Identifies critical or important calls and advises appropriate staff.
- Enters information into the database system and performs relevant data processing activities.
- Processes discovery and associated tasks.

- Knowledge of administrative support staff practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic.
- Knowledge of court procedures and policies, legal documents, laws and legal factors pertaining to the court.
- Knowledge of organization and court operations, functions and scope of authority of the Juvenile Officer.
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.

Graduation from high school and two years secretarial or general clerical experience.
