Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

Assistant Photographer needed to help capture photography for the Strategic Marketing & Communications department needs.

Responsibilities

This position will assist the Visual Content Director in capturing photos for a variety of purposes (events, web, social, etc) and will be expected to deliver high quality images fully edited and catalogued in a timely manner. This will include helping to manage our digital asset management system (Photoshelter) and tagging all uploaded imagery with proper metadata. This position must have a strong understanding of photography composition and technical aspects of camera functions. This person will be responsible for communicating with campus partners before and after any events to ensure all deliverables are accounted for. Prior Canon camera experience a plus but not required.

Required Qualifications

Working knowledge of Adobe Lightroom. Strong work ethic, communication skills, and always on time. Must be personable and polite. At least an understanding of the main functions of a camera (Shutter Speed, ISO, f/Stop or Aperature). Prior experience with Canon cameras preferred.

Desired Qualifications

Preferably someone comfortable shooting in Manual mode, but will teach if needed. Previous Panther experience recommended. Energetic about photography, reliable, professional, has photojournalism skills, works well with people, honed organizational skills and proactive to streamline processes and come up with ideas.

Special Instructions to Applicants

This position will require you to work evenings and some weekends.
