Supply Chain Architect Product Manager

Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Capacity, Supply Chain & Provisioning (CSCP ) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

The Strategy and Transformation (S&T) team at Microsoft is leading the charge in transforming the Cloud Supply Chain. We are currently seeking a skilled Supply Chain Architect Product Manager to collaborate with business and engineering leaders.

As the Supply Chain Architect Product Manager , you will play a pivotal role in defining the overall supply chain architecture for Microsoft’s Supply Chain platform. You will work closely with key stakeholders to shape the interaction between first and third-party software, ensuring a seamless and efficient supply chain ecosystem. Your technical and business supply chain experience will be critical in creating a comprehensive roadmap for a complex set of systems that align with our mission of delivering the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain.

Qualifications:
Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years’ experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and implementing systems including custom and 3rd party solutions (such as SAP, Dynamics 365, or other ERP)
  • 3+ years of supply chain experience, such as Planning, Sourcing/Category Management, Materials Handling, Logistics/Fulfillment, etc.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 7+ years’ experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Enterprise and Solution Architecture Framework experience, including best practices, methodologies and documentation processes
  • Exceptional ability in defining and diagraming product architecture and strategy
  • Familiarity with SAP (ECC, IBP, MDG) solutions.
  • Familiarity with Blockchain/Web3 solutions.
  • Familiarity with Sustainability, Circular Supply Chain and Emissions Neutral compliance and global regulations
  • Computer science and business foundations, and problem solving and analytical skills.
  • The ability to lead/influence without being a direct people manager.
  • Ability to engage w/ data scientists, operations researchers, all levels of software engineers, business partners as well as senior leadership.
  • The ability to operate effectively with ambiguity and to go deep in unfamiliar technology areas.

Product Management IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 – $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 – $238,600 per year.

Responsibilities:
The role has scope for broad impact to the end-to-end Supply Chain, and will require collaboration capability, and ability to leverage experience and expertise to influence across organizational lines. The Supply Chain Architect Product Manager will demonstrate supply chain proficiency and a track record in documenting Supply Chain technology vision, articulating specific recommendations and driving them through to achieve measurable value.

The S upply Chain Architect Product Manager will play a key role in helping the leadership team with Microsoft’s supply chain strategy, communicating guiding principles, as well as supporting technology investments in highly ambiguous and exploratory areas.

In this role, you will work with both business and engineering leaders to manage and document an end-to-end solutions architecture to drive consistency, scale, business value and simplifications to our operational workflows. This Senior Product Manager will dive into individual problem areas and will guide the team by analyzing options, making recommendations and best approaches.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a high-level, holistic vision of enterprise solutions and development initiatives
  • Maintaining high-level reference models including the functional/solution architecture, conceptual data architecture, application architecture and integration strategy
  • Establish and execute architecture management processes including the governance structure (e.g. Architecture Review Board) and processes
  • Understand and communicate strategic themes and other key business drivers for architecture to System Architects and non-technical stakeholders
  • Influence common modeling, design, and coding practices
  • Facilitate the reuse of ideas, components, and proven patterns
