Job Summary/Basic Function

This position is responsible for financial tracking and reconciling any accounting for all capital development and capital improvement design and construction projects for the University. Responsible for all the design, procurement, and coordination of all furnishings and equipment associated with new construction and renovation projects. Responsible for maintaining allocated budgets for all FF&E related to projects. This position supervises all project management support staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field (e.g. Business, Facilities Management, Communication, Finance, Accounting). Four years of full-time, related work experience may be substituted for the degree (in addition to the two years of work experience required, for a total of six years of full-time work experience).
  • Two years of full-time work experience in finance, accounting, business, or interior design related field.
  • A valid Utah Driver License is a condition of employment.
  • Must complete WSU Driver Safety training annually.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage budgets, process account reconciliations, general accounting, and perform computations and analysis, including trend predictions, of construction budgets
  • Ability to read, understand, construction financial documents.
  • Ability to lead and motivate employees.
  • Experience coordinating and supervising vendors, contractors, and performing quality control on performed work.
  • Must be very organized and have experience establishing an organizational system and implementing it.
  • Experience working within the Utah State Procurement system and DFCM Guidelines.
  • Must have strong computing skills (e.g. e-mail, internet, spreadsheets, word processing, web programming).
  • Ability to be self-motivated, self-managed, thorough and accurate in job procedures.
  • Ability to work, cooperate, and communicate with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability and flexibility to coordinate multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Ability to understand construction and design contractual language.
  • Experience working with construction documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new tasks.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience with AIM or another (CMMS) computer management system.
  • Experience working in Banner, Paw Place, Bluebeam, AutoCAD or other construction, design, and scheduling programs.
  • Willingness to participate in continuing educational opportunities such as becoming educated in Utah State Procurement Code and DFCM Guidelines.
