Responsibilities
Looking for an enthusiastic Digital Press Operator to join our Large Format team. You’ll be part of a talented production group that collaborates to deliver quality products to our customers. This opportunity focuses on printing materials per exact specifications, in a timely manner, using a variety of Large Format presses including HP Latex R2000 flatbed, Cannon Colorado digital printer and Colex CNC cutting device.
Works as part of a production unit within Mayo’s Division of Media Support Services. Is responsible for the operation of unit specific equipment and software
- Operating large format printers: Epson, HP, and Cannon printers
- Transferring and setting up files for printing
- Loading/unloading of material into printers
- Reviewing orders to understand scope, details and quantities required
- Ensuring color matches using Pantone color system
- Editing & saving color in Onyx and EFI Firey Rip stations
- Providing consistent quality control
- Catching any proof, production, or order mistakes before jobs leave the Print Department
- Troubleshooting printer malfunctions
- Performing preventative maintenance and daily cleaning
- Maintaining a clean area around printing machinery according to 5S system
- Cleaning outside surfaces of printers
- Operating hot and cold Laminators
- Keeping Inventory & Restocking printing supplies
- Obtaining a basic understanding of Pre-Press files to manipulate as needed
- Training new-hires and other employees on tasks as needed
- Performing other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
2 Year AA (Associates Degree) in layout, design, html, publishing or media-related field plus 1 year work experience or a minimum of 3 years work experience in a production/publishing related field.Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of basic mathematics. Attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience operating an HP Latex R2000 Flatbed, Cannon Colorado Digital Printer, and Colex CNC cutting device.
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance and cleaning of machines
- Ability to meet quality expectations and productivity metrics
- Must be able to read and understand a job ticket, layout sheet, artwork and other specifications.
- Possess excellent work ethic, communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Monitor equipment and perform routine/preventive maintenance
- Ability to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently
- Basic math & computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Large Format Printing and/or RIP Experience a plus
- Graphic Photoshop/InDesign/Adobe Illustrator Experience a plus
