Devices Brand Studio (DBS) is the internal creative partner for Amazon Devices & Services teams. We work across the complete portfolio of devices and services, including Echo, Fire TV, Alexa, Kindle, Smart Home, Luna, and Fire tablets. With our cross-category and cross-disciplinary POV, we’re able to raise the customer-experience bar everywhere our devices show up in the world.
To ensure maximum efficiency in resourcing creative work DBS is seeking a Creative Resource Manager to help manage resourcing on a team of ~85 people. This individual’s main objective is to help develop a more robust resourcing/traffic program and the related mechanisms to enable our resourcing to scale with the business.
They will manage the day to day to ensure all marketing creative projects and work from key internal/external stakeholders flows efficiently to creative and production departments. They are responsible for project intake, resource management, air traffic control and scope of work planning.
Key job responsibilities
The Creative Resource Manager will work to structure Resource planning/management. They will manage intake of all product line roadmaps and work requests during annual Operational Planning and scope the work using historical data to determine resources needed. They review and assign resources to incoming projects including large scale, long term projects as well as small projects. To do this they will understand the workflow and requirements of all deliverables we produce and the skill level and expertise of all human resources on the team. The will enter projects into our resource tool and leverage tools to scale resourcing.
They will monitor resource utilization by functional team showing resourcing constraints. They will project how overlapping project timelines will impact resourcing and suggest solutions. They will identify resource gaps and determine contractor strategy to close the gaps.
This individual should enjoy working with partners and internal teams. They will facilitate weekly Air Traffic Control (resourcing) meetings with leadership and managers and support communications to all key internal/external stakeholders regarding resourcing.
Lastly , they will ensure transparency and create mechanisms to ensure the organization is utilizing and updating our resource management tools to provide adequate insight to resource capacity.
A day in the life
Each day our team receives new project requests, scope increases on existing project and changes to the Devices roadmap that impact creative and or timelines. This individual is responsible for how we respond to and resource requests. One day they will run resourcing meetings with the Project Mangers and other days they will meet with managers to go through monthly or quarterly forecasting. They will ensure we are leveraging our tools to provide transparency on resource capacity. In parallel they will work to improve the Resource Management Program (intake, scope of work, resource assignments and reporting).

Our team builds relationships with internal partners (Product Lines and Online Experience team) to deeply understand their business goals and ensure Devices Brand Studio raises the bar on creative deliverables to positively impact customer experience. As the main point of contact for Devices Brand Studio programs and projects, we ensure the right resources and stakeholders are involved at the right time. We create efficiency. We get the right people in the room at the right time to drive timely decisions. We audit processes, inspect functionality and implement mechanisms to improve our workflow and provide transparency to our team and stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of program or project management experience
– Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
– Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
– Experience working cross functionally with non-tech teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
– Master’s degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
– Expertise in Project Management/Resourcing tool SmartSheet/10,000 feet software, or similar

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
