For this highly coveted position, we are looking for a Seattle-based leader who is ready to orchestrate a top executive’s communications and engagement platform as well as an ensure relevant integrated executive communications across the company. This role serves to support and advance a top executive’s platform through a multi-channel and multi-audience approach, grounded in the company’s corporate and brand narratives.

How You’ll Make an Impact

As a senior manager, you’ll be responsible for organizing, orchestrating and executing the activities of a senior leader’s strategic communications platform. To be most effective, you will need to partner with your Public Affairs colleagues, agency partners, and key stakeholders across the company. In this role, you will:
• Be responsible for the organization, orchestration and execution of a top executive’s strategic communications agenda across a multi-stakeholder, multi-channel platform;
• Be skilled in quickly developing plans and presentations to bring clarity, confidence and connection between a top leader and the global business, brand and communications strategies of the company;
• Regularly write organizational announcements, talking points, social media copy and similar forms of materials for a top executive in their voice;
• Play a key role in building and executing leaders’ roles in internal company meetings and highly visible stakeholder engagements, including speaking engagements, board of director meetings and Earnings calls.
• Vet and organize- including preparing briefings for- this top leader’s public speaking, media and partner engagements.
• Advance the company and public affairs team culture through listening, inclusion, transparency, empathy and action

How that Comes to Life
• Listening and engaging with curiosity to define clear goals and outcomes;
• Writing talking points – at any given moment- to help this leader quickly articulate brand positioning on evergreen topics AND emerging issues;
• Developing internal and external communications and engagement materials to prepare this senior leader for multi-stakeholder engagements in close partnership with business unit and PA audience and channel strategy leaders.
• Short form writing in leader’s voice – company announcements, talking points, social media copy
• Forming strong, collaborative relationships with agency team and key support partners across the company to support communications strategies that support our leaders’ top priorities.
• Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of partner, media and investor as well as digital landscape as it relates to the brand and competitor set;
• Apply forward thinking and research skills to shape communications that are most relevant for key stakeholder groups;
• Embodying Starbucks values and ensuring they’re reflected in all of our communication

• Desire to take initiative in leading projects and presenting new perspectives.
• A solid grasp of narrative, awareness of audiences, exceptional attention to detail, and are a forward-thinking team player who works collaboratively.
• Demonstrated people management experience.

Summary of Experience
• Corporate communications leadership, preferably seasoned in external communications at a multi-unit retailer and/or an agency (7+ years)
• Working in highly matrixed teams (2+ years)
• Demonstrated ability to apply general business knowledge and experience in a complex, fast-paced global environment
• Demonstrated ability to develop and lead execution of effective communication programs (internal and external) across the enterprise
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, agencies and partners across the organization
• Ability to work in a team and influence other
