Job Description
Performs tasks relating to the preparation and service of food, the delivery and collection of food and supplies, the operation of machinery and the sanitation of specific areas of the department.
Job Responsibility
- Prepares and arranges food according to guidelines and tallies.
- Handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations.
- Assembles meal trays neatly, accurately and with appropriate portion size.
- Delivers food trucks to appropriate units in a timely manner.
- Delivers food trays, nourishment, supplemental feedings and supplies.
- Operates elevators appropriately.
- Collects used food trucks and returns to kitchen.
- Uses equipment, i.e can openers, blenders, etc in a safe and efficient manner.
- Operates dishwasher, etc according to proper procedure.
- Maintains cleanliness of the work area.
- Refrigerates and labels perishable foods and stores all supplies in an orderly fashion.
- Adheres to NSLIJHS policies and procedures, Joint Commission and the Department of Health regulatory agency requirements.
- Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Prior experience preferred.
- Ability to portion items and load, pick-up and deliver trays.
- Ability to communicate effectively.

The salary range for this position is $22.32-$24.59/hour
