Overview
Provides assistance to journey, lead and supervisory-level welders performing fabricating, repair and modifications to various equipment.
Essential Functions
- Performs welding, fabrication, and maintenance work on various light and heavy equipment; prepares welding projects by analyzing work orders, prints, and completed assembly; calculating requirements; studying metals; determining welding techniques.
- Gathers welding equipment and materials by studying specifications and component requirements; orders supplies and gases; reads and interprets schematics for projects.
- Completes welds by cleaning, preparing, cutting, burning, and welding pieces; effectively selects welding methods, sets up assemblies, and accurately measures; diagnoses, repairs, and maintains COD equipment to ensure daily operations.
- Verifies welding results by inspecting and testing welds; documents welding actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Keeps welding equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; troubleshoots and investigates breakdowns; maintains equipment supplies, performs preventive maintenance, calls for repairs.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy welding environment by adhering to organization standards, policies, and to legal regulations, alerts others regarding potential concerns.
- Improves welding job knowledge by attending training sessions, professional development classes, and by reading technical publications.
- Contributes to welding and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helps others accomplish job results.
- Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience
2 years of welding experience.
