Sr. Program Manager, Hydrogen Compliance, Global Hydrogen Economy

As part of the Global Hydrogen Economy team, you will facilitate system compliance analyses, identification of hazards and mitigations, and provide a detailed record of the risk approach. In the early phases of a program, you will support the assessment of functional hazards, develop and allocate safety & compliance requirements, and defining scope necessary to develop a safe program by collaborating with Global Safety, Fire Safety and other safety partners. In later phases of development, you will coordinate the safety validation and verification activities, assessment of safety impacts of engineering changes, and ensure that design-specific safety mitigations are implemented effectively. In this role, you will have the opportunity to continue to engage cross functionally with internal product development, numerous safety teams and Category teams, as well as with external vendors and consultants.

Key job responsibilities

– Program Management of safety related activities supporting multiple hydrogen projects across different business units

– Support system safety analyses, such as: Hazard & Operability Analysis (HAZOP), Failure Mode, Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)

– Working knowledge of configuration management principles and practices

– Interpret new regulations, determine their applicability to organization procedures and standards, and devise strategies and procedures for compliance.

– Anticipate and recognize hazards, evaluate exposures, and offer control methods

– Lead or assist in all aspects of incident reporting including initial follow-up, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions

– Support audits and routine facility inspections to ensure products are deployed safely

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 5+ years of program or project management experience

– Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

– Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

– Bachelors in Mechanical, Electrical, Sustainability or other Engineering areas

– Experience in process and product safety related to hydrogen and battery technologies

– Experienced in managing safety and compliance approaches such as Risk Assessments, Hazard & Operability Analysis (HAZOP), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), UL/CE certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

– Master’s degree in Engineering or MBA in business or related field

– Hands-on experience in leading process and/or product safety initiatives for sustainable technologies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
