The Author Trust and Delight organization in Books is looking for a principal TPM (Technical Program Manager) with strong business focus and technical acumen to take Amazon’s Indie Author Publishing business to the next level. The organization delivers on 2 verticals – first, business growth through investments in marketing, insights, profitability, discoverability, and second, content and fraud risk-management. You will support profitable businesses with millions of authors and hundreds of millions of published books, backed by 100s of services and powered by science.
This TPM’s scope includes defining strategy, and leading cross functional development teams from design through delivery. You will be accountable for driving the product lifecycle, from identifying the right technical investments, to technical specification, architecture, coding, quality assurance and launch to the world. You will partner with Product Managers and business stakeholders. You will influence engineering teams to build the right solutions. You will also help create mechanisms, and mentor and grow TPMs within your organization.
This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, risks and change control. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential.
The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong project management & organizational skills, strong judgement, and the ability to work independently.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
– 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
– 7+ years of technical program management experience
– 5+ years of software development experience
– Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
– Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
