We seek a top-tier Scrum Master/ Agile Coach who can help lead and support software development teams as well and project coordinator responsibilities that will serves as an alternative to traditional methodologies specifically within the field of software development.
Scrum Master Duties
- Arrange for daily stand-up meetings, facilitate and schedule meetings, demo and follow local scrum ceremonies (daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective, etc.)
- Properly manage the backlog and aid team in determining suitable commitments for product backlog items and sprints
- Help balance the prioritization of technical debt against new feature innovation and software delivery
- Create a positive and easy communication channel (team, product owner, partners)
- Protect the team from outside interruptions and distractions and remove impediments
- Address team dynamics, resolve conflict and resource constraints
- Foster a culture of teamwork, creativity and innovation
- Use Jira as a tool to assist scrum team efficiency
- Coach Agile practices
- Be a servant leader
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary
Agile Coach Duties and Responsibilities
- Educate colleagues (all levels), and clients on Agile principles, providing them with tools for implementing the process in their own work.
- You will deliver training sessions and teach valuable skills that lead toward the organization-wide adoption of Agile methodologies.
- The Agile Coach will also act as a mentor responsible for guiding teams into the Agile methodology, providing feedback and means of improvement, catalyzing organizational growth and answering inquiries.
- Providing hands-on support to all employees, leading teams towards further understanding and adoption of Agile as well as overall company growth and improvement.
- You will also develop Agile adoption strategy for the organization.
- Agile coach will use techniques that increase collaboration, predictability, transparency and promote a culture of experimentation and innovation.
- As an Agile Coach you will also embody the Agile principles and lead by example.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and
- 10+ years of Agile delivery experience / recent hands-on experience as a Scrum Master and Agile Coach.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, with technical and non-technical audiences
- Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified or Professional Scrum Trainer (CST, PST)
- Experience on software development teams with an understanding of software development and software quality disciplines
- Solid grasp of Scrum and Kanban principles
- Passion for leading Scrum teams to continually improve quality and delivery
- Proficient in agile/ scrum development methodology
- Ability to work both in a team and alone
- Working knowledge of a leading relational database management system (preferably SQL Server)
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $99,000- $122,000 USD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
