Doing DevRel at Harness, we aim to meet developers where they are and bring them legitimate value via educational content and problem-solving and working examples. The goal is to raise awareness of Harness by being valuable in developer communities. You will need to be a subject matter expert on the Harness products you work on, as well as the community and users that those products serve.

You will partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams to create technical content, video content, in-person talks, sample apps for customers to utilize – and other forms of technical thought leadership to drive awareness and product adoption.

You will also work to help distribute that content across the web by finding and participating ing developer communities, and working to measure the ROI of these outreach and awareness efforts..

ABOUT THE ROLE

    • Build a consistent pipeline of new content – blogs, videos and working code examples, on a monthly cadence
    • Identify ideal developer communities to participate in for your given Harness product, and work with product marketing and product management to quantify our engagement efforts
    • Seek opportunities to provide in-person speaking and training efforts at conferences, meetups and other developer community events
    • Help us maintain our developer resources and improve our developer experience, including contributing to documentation and tutorials and being a voice for our customers back to the product management team
    • Provide the marketing and sales team learnings from your work in the community, helping to feed into improved training, internal enablement and messaging based on what you learn via community engagement

ABOUT YOU

    • 5+ years as a developer or 3+ years in a developer advocacy or educational role such as developer relations/evangelism, creating technical content, leading a community of developers via forums or events
    • Hungry to get stuff done and adjust at a high rate of change – velocity paired with iterative learning beats perfection
    • You have 3+ examples of technical educational content aimed for professional developers (e.g. tutorial, video series, blog series, course)
    • Comfortable writing code to produce sample apps in at least one language
    • Interested in unpacking the business case around developer advocacy and working to quantify the ROI of all efforts

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $139,000-164,000 annually. Salary is determined by a combination of factors including location, level, relevant experience, and skills.
