Since 1976, St. Joseph Center has been meeting the needs of low-income and homeless individuals and families in Venice, Santa Monica, Mar Vista, and surrounding communities. The Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization that assists people without regard for religious affiliation or lack thereof through comprehensive case management and integrated social service programs. The Center enjoys broad-based community support as well as a sponsored relationship with its founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. St. Joseph Center serves approximately 6,000 individuals annually.

Brief Description of Principal Activities

Multifaceted intervention, prevention, and education services are carried out at four sites on the Westside of Los Angeles. St. Joseph Center’s integrated programs provide clients with concentrated and coordinated access to services according to the nature of their needs.

Job Summary

The Data and Outcomes Manager will manage day-to-day data operations including data collection, quality, processing, and reporting. You will oversee a team of data specialists and analysts conducting robust analysis, creating innovative data visualizations and managing data collection and tracking systems. Under the supervision of the Director of Data and Impact, the Outcome & Data Manager will support in managing data from various information systems that measure program effectiveness to drive successful outcomes for those we serve. Our ideal candidate is not just technically proficient but is also passionate about using data to drive social impact. They understand the power of data in shaping strategy and are committed to our mission of addressing homelessness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and conduct data analysis to generate insight and measure agency and program effectiveness
  • Use Tableau software to develop and maintain dynamic, comprehensive data models that communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Design, update, and manage program management dashboards, providing program managers with real-time insights into our performance and impact, enabling data-informed decisions
  • In collaboration with Program leadership, develop, monitor, and improve performance against key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Automate data processing and engage in meticulous data cleanup operations to ensure our datasets are accurate, reliable, and readily accessible for decision-making
  • Compile and submit Quarterly and Annual Performance Reports and other reports as requested by funders
  • Ensure that data system design and data quality are in compliance with grant requirements and aligned with organizational objectives
  • Develop and maintain documentation of data sources, data pipeline and processing activities, performance targets, benchmark goals, etc.
  • Ensure the organization’s data practices adhere to the highest standards of data privacy and security
  • Train and develop department leadership in translating dashboards and reports for insight and action
  • Train and develop direct reports to grow their technical and analytical skills
  • Support in designing and assisting in program evaluation

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven experience using Tableau to create compelling, meaningful visualizations and creating data models from multiple data sources
  • Experience with SQL, highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or a similar CRM software to manage and analyze client interactions and data
  • High proficiency with Excel
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and HUD HMIS Data Standards as they relate to data privacy and information security, highly desirable
  • Familiarity with the non-profit sector, particularly in understanding the specific challenges and data needs within the areas of housing, homeless assistance, mental health, and/or workforce development
  • Strong analytical skills, with an ability to discern patterns, trends, and insights from complex data sets
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all data and reports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly narrate data insights to diverse audiences
  • Basic knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research and analysis methods

Experience:

  • 2+ years leading data analysis and reporting in an insight-generating role
  • Experience working with HMIS/EHR systems (e.g., Clarity, ServicePoint, Exym, CHAMP), highly desirable

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent knowledge and experience.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
  • Valid automobile liability insurance.

Status: Full time/Exempt

Salary: $70,000 – 75,000

Employment with St. Joseph Center is contingent on completion of satisfactory background check.
