Job Description:
Student Development, Supervision, & Risk Management:
- Recruit, train, supervise, coach, mentor and evaluate student and other part-time staff (approximately 20-30 staff on an annual basis).
- Plan and facilitate regular staff meetings and training sessions for each assigned area including awareness and compliance with all University policies and procedures.
- Assist with the development of program training manuals and materials including safety and risk management practices to meet national standards and University policy.
- In coordination with unit area team and the Talent Management Unit create and implement a comprehensive student development program.
- Communicate job responsibilities and expectations for student employees.
Program Management & Administration:
- Manage Fusion software functions related to spectator passes, security roles, access reports, and device configurations.
- Promote operating policies and procedures for use in assigned programs.
- Enforce University and department policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Facilitate outreach efforts in collaboration with Marketing to promote RecSports programs and services.
- In tandem with Assistant Director, collaborate with other units within RecSports and on campus to develop and enhance relevant services.
Financial, Administrative, & Other Duties as Assigned:
- Work in tandem with Assistant Director to develop the operational budgets for assigned programs.
- Monitor budgets throughout the year and assist with quarterly reporting.
- Maintain proper inventory records.
- Serve as an active member on committees, work teams, and other global efforts within the Department of Recreational Sports.
- Prepare and manage bi-weekly payroll and wage schedules and reports.
- Ensure Risk Management & Safety protocol are utilized appropriately within all assigned responsibilities.
- Provides feedback to supervisor regarding the safety and/or condition of programs, equipment and facilities; conducts daily observations and/or use said equipment and facilities; immediately documents and addresses all safety concerns.
Expected Salary:
$36,000 – $50,000
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization or a bachelor’s degree in appropriate areas of specialization and two years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree; two years of experience in membership sales and service in a recreation setting; ability to understand membership policies and procedures; understanding and willingness to learn the Fusion Recreation Management software; ability to work with minimal supervision, to think laterally and to undertake initiatives; ability to effectively supervise; and is self-motivated, adaptable, a great team player and customer focused.
