A construction company that specializes in steel fabrication based in St. Louis, MO is looking for a Fabrication Steel Estimator to join their team! The company is ideally looking for someone to work in the St. Louis office, however there is a potential for remote work if necessary. In this role, you will be the main person in the division, leading the entire estimating process, from interpreting intricate drawings to developing relationships with vendors. The company is looking for someone with 3+ years of estimating miscellaneous metals that can visualize spatial reasoning and estimate in their head, bringing the proposal to life. Pay Range: $80,000 – $110,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Lead entire estimating process as chief estimator
- Review and interpret drawings, visualizing spatial reasoning
- Compile material and labor costs, taking estimates from start to finish
- Develop vendor relationships for favorable pricing and delivery
- Handle pre-bid discussions and post-bid follow-ups
- Master Tekla Power Fab software
- Communicate thoroughly with project managers and General Manager
- Handle 2 – 3 jobs at a time across locations
- Calculate all costs, including requests for metal pricing from vendors
- Assist Project Managers with change orders and post-project meetings
Requirements:
- 3+ years estimating miscellaneous metals
- Knowledge of steel installation and/or manufacturing
- Understanding of take-off, material cost, shop labor costs
- BlueBeam experience preferred; flexibility considered
- Knowledge of stainless steel and aluminum preferred
- College Degree or equivalent experience
- Self-starter, self-motivated, especially if remote
- Reliable, passionate, thorough, detail-oriented
- Strong verbal communication and client interaction skills
- Ability to work in CST time zone if remote
