You may have also acquired the following skills:

  • Fluent in all types of vibration engineering including, but not limited to, Acoustic-induced vibration (AIV), Flow-induced vibration (FIV), and mechanically induced vibration. Proficiency in utilizing computational tools such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software for simulating flow-induced phenomena.
  • Fluent in engineering standard ASME BPVC Section III, Div. I., Appendices N1300 & N1400
  • Familiarity with Regulatory Guide RG 1.20
  • Experience with experimental testing techniques, data acquisition, and signal processing for vibration and acoustic analysis
  • Experience in root cause analysis in pump vibration and acoustic resonance, fluid-elastic instabilities in steam generator tubes

You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Flow Induced Vibration Engineer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Products and Engineering Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. This position will be involved in one or more projects involving next-generation Advanced Reactors, as well as installed-base nuclear power plants. Your work will include:

  • Perform analytical evaluations of reactor coolant system components, including stress analysis, dynamic structural analysis, and flow-induced vibration (FIV) analysis that conforms to the ASME Section III code and applicable Regulatory Guides.
  • Lead R&D studies on FIV for reactor pressure vessel internals and steam generator internals.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $91,000 – $124,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
