Midwinter is looking for a full-time Senior Character Gameplay Animator to join our talented team. As part of a small team, your work will directly contribute to the success of our yet-to-be-announced project.
As an experienced Senior Character Gameplay Animator, you will work in collaboration with the art director, animation and design teams working on multiple facets of the game. This includes player combat and motion, getting the look and feel of the 3rd person combat with technical considerations of implementation, as well as bringing NPC enemies to life through their combat abilities, motion and reactions, and supporting additional supplemental animations such as props and set-pieces.
In this role you will :
- Create high quality 3rd person animations using keyframe and motion capture data
- Work in UE5 and Maya
- Be responsible for implementation and support for ABP, BPs, Montages, etc.
- Debug animation issues
- Research and explore the potential solutions for animation problems with other animators and tech artists, exploring the effective pipeline in pre-production
- Collaborate with and support design teams in implementing new complex states and abilities on both player and AI systems
- Utilize and support our Motion Capture pipeline using Xsens suit and MVN Animate Pro
What we are looking for :
- Expert knowledge of character animation
- Expertise in Maya and Unreal Engine
- Strong technical knowledge for animation implementation
- Experience in the game engine, especially creating state machines and familiarity with setting up animation and gameplay logic
- Experience working with motion capture pipelines
- Experience working with outsourcing studios is a plus
- Creative, collaborative, strong communicator, and flexible problem solver with an inclusive attitude

$95,000 – $130,000 a year
