Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the GMD weapon system level Discrimination Design engineering activities. We are seeking engineers that are motivated by being part of a high-visibility mission critical program, technical leaders focused on in instilling engineering discipline, rigor, and working day-to-day in a digital engineering environment.

What you will do (day in the life):

In this role, you will be a system engineer designing and integrating GMD weapon system level discrimination capabilities in a fully integrated digital engineering environment. You will work on a critical customer program utilizing proven and innovative systems engineering and analysis principles to analyze and design system capabilities, robustness, and future capability improvements for the GMD system. In this position you will plan and coordinate with GMD Element team members, external MDS Element stakeholders, and GMD program customer, executing technical working groups, technical interchange meetings, and technical design reviews. This activity will include significant coordination and execution among multi-discipline teams and integrated digital platforms.

Work Location: Huntsville, AL

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

A System Engineer on this team will:

  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Lead others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Oversee analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Lead analyses for safety, testability, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Develop, maintain, and identify improvements to the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.

Requirements

  • Experience applying and teaching systems engineering processes and principles.
  • Experience with system architecture development, requirements, interface definition, verification, and validation.
  • Experience with complex systems development and integration.
  • Experience in modeling or simulation of complex systems.
  • Experience with implementation and maintenance of systems engineering tools, schedules and metrics (i.e. Earned value management, DOORs, CAMEO).
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • Experience working in digital engineering processes and tools.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. ( An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.)

This position requires clearing a background check and an enhanced Personal Conflict of Interest (PCI) requirements as a condition for employment.

Desired Experience:

  • Significant experience working with standard systems engineering processes.
  • Experience working on MDA programs, especially GMD.
  • Subject Matter Expertise with correlation and multi-sensor data fusion techniques.
  • Experience with RF and EO/IR sensor platforms.
  • Experience with mentoring and teaching junior engineers.

Required Education:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience).

Summary Pay Range:

$138,000 – $207,000
