Overview:
The Supply Chain Solutions Engineer plays a pivotal role in advancing engineering projects and initiatives spearheaded by the APLL Innovation and Process Improvement engineering team. The incumbent will drive projects within the APLL CLS warehouse network, fostering collaborations across multiple departments, aiming to enhance productivity through the adoption of best practices, cutting-edge technology, labor management systems, and optimized processes.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design & Development: Create flexible and scalable solutions for warehouse operations, encompassing:
- Material Handling Solutions
- Order Fulfilment Strategies
- Storage System Innovations
- Automated and Integrated Solutions with WMS, WCS, and Manhattan WMS systems
- Process Optimization and Improvements
- Collaboration: Partner with IT, Project Management, Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams to align and drive initiatives.
- Project Management: Lead and oversee:
- Lean Projects & Process Improvements
- Labor Management System (LMS) deployment & maintenance
- Business Development support & onboarding
- Technology adoption & upgrades
- Documentation & Analysis: Maintain engineering databases, AutoCAD layouts, conduct field observations, analyze data using Time Studies and MOST methods, and provide insights on labor, technology, and innovation market trends.
- Reporting: Regularly document, publish, and communicate updates on projects, meetings, and studies, ensuring transparency and stakeholder alignment.
- Business Development: Lend expertise to aid business growth and sustainability initiatives
- Assists in the design of engineered solutions, preparation of financial operational models and the coordination of implementation project cost estimation.
- Identify opportunities to introduce and deploy best practices and methods that result in a positive improvement on how the operation and/or the customer integrated solution should operate more efficiently.
- Assists on the financial estimates and preparation of projects ROI, WACC, ROIC, ROCE.
- Assists in the preparation of engineered solution presentations for internal and external audiences.
- Supports efforts for Request for Information (RFI) and/ or Request for Proposal (RFP).
- Reviews and analyses RFP documents and data provided by customers.
- Supports the development of conceptual operational process and layout for a new CLS operations.
- Supports multiple projects simultaneously.
- Actively participates and supports engineering sessions with MHE technology vendors for the purpose of operational process integration.
- Actively participates and supports engineering discovery sessions with internal and customer stakeholders and validates data, volumes, operational requirements and facilitates the definition of solution gaps.
- Coordinates and produces final detailed operational layout.
- Performs audits while new solution is being deployed to ensure expected productivities are met.
- Performs on-site work measurements to validate / audit expected productivities.
- Provides integration support with MHE Technology vendor.
- Performs acceptance testing for MHE solutions.
- Provides timely status reports to SCS Engineer / SCS Manager on the progress of assigned projects via weekly status conference calls and/ or written reports.
- Documents and publishes written solution design project status reports on weekly basis.
- Participates on operational reviews with functional areas: HR, Procurement, Finance, IT and FIT, Implementations, and Operations.
- Assists on the preparation of executive summaries for every design project.
- Maintains meeting minutes and project correspondence with project stakeholders, project owners, project resources, and project sponsors.
- Actively support SCS process improvement initiatives and evaluates process improvements initiatives generated by the operation teams.
- Validates that Job Functions, Operator Profiles, SOPs, and Training manuals adhere to new design solution.
- Validates that facility set up solution is planned according to new solution design.
- Keeps track of his/her project hours and travel expenses and reports them every week in a timely manner to SCS Engineer and/or Manager.
- Maintains all project records in share point. Performs periodic back up of project data and records.
- Maintains local team standard project templates.
Qualifications
- Qualifications:
- A degree in Industrial Engineering or a relevant field.
• Proficiency in the nuances of the Supply Chain Industry, especially Retail & Consumer Goods.
• Sound understanding of the 3PL industry.
• Training in facility planning, design, operational modeling, and MOST time studies.
• AutoCAD experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Introductory skills in Power BI and Tableau.
• Proven ability to deliver under tight timelines.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication.
• Proficient analytical abilities and technical acumen.

• Physical requirements:

The typical salary range for this position is: $82,236 – $100,000.
The actual salary offer will take into account multiple factors including skills, experience, education and location. Please note that the salary details listed in role postings reflect the base salary only, not total compensation, which includes bonus and benefits.
