Job Summary:

The Consumer Law Attorney will help aid clients with consumer law protection and unfair credit and debt collections practices including drafting pleadings and motions, arguing motions, hearings, and conducting depositions.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Provides legal advice and representation to individuals seeking consumer and unfair credit/debt protection.
• Evaluates evidence in consumer law, TCPA/FTSA.
• Prepares and files briefs, motions, and other necessary judicial pleadings.
• Manages and/or participates in Pre-Suit and litigation of cases involving consumer law disputes.
• Interviews and deposes witnesses and further facilitates the discovery process.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Be able to handle cases from inception to trial.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

  • Bonus pay

License/Certification:

  • Bar (Required)

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

2-4 years experience required
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of Consumer Protection law.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and diligence.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• A license in good standing to practice law in Florida.
• The ability to manage a large and active caseload from filing through verdict.
• Must be a self-starter and goal oriented with a focus on long term career goals
• Pride in your client-focused practice
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills that allow you to effectively manage relationships with a variety of people including – investigators, expert witnesses, opposing counsel, clients, etc.
• Ability for assembling and organizing information gathered during discovery for presentation at trial.
• A strong courtroom presence and eagerness to try cases.
• Must be competent & proficient in the use of Word, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Draft/ review substantive pleadings and motions
• Respond to motions and discover.
• Attending hearings, depositions, mediations, meetings with clients.
• Class Action and Federal Experience preferred.
• TCPA and FTSA preferred.
• Debt collection and overdraft fee preferred.
• Consumer credit reporting protection preferred.
• Truth and lending preferred.
• Dobb-Frank preferred.
• Florida Chapter 559 and 501 preferred
• FACTA preferred.
