Purpose
This position performs skilled and complex daily activities in the maintenance, repair and construction of public facilities and other structures to include electrical, mechanical, plumbing, alarms, and HVAC.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform complex maintenance and diagnostic services for carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and similar systems maintenance, repair or construction of county facilities or structures.
- Estimate and procure compatible materials and tools required to perform maintenance, repair and construction-related functions.
- Installation, maintenance and repair of surveillance systems.
- Maintain appropriate work records and documents, including work orders and formal and informal inspections.
- Prepare and process daily work reports, inspection reports, work orders, requisitions, sketches, etc.
- Plans the layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
- Inspect facilities to identify maintenance and repair requirements and priorities.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency service calls, diagnoses problems and makes minor repairs.
- Estimate and procure compatible materials and tools required to perform maintenance, repair and construction-related functions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School graduation or GED equivalent and two (2) years of experience in performing building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and minor construction maintenance and repairs; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Must possess and maintain valid state Driver’s License with an acceptable driving history.
Work Location: 301 W. Oglethorpe Ave Work Hours: 8 am – 5 pm

Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.
