Salary:
This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $53,222. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.

Role Overview:
This position is responsible for all project management responsibilities with the continuous improvement efforts for the agency. This includes all phases of process improvement projects such as initiation, planning, execution, and closure consistent with established project scope, goals, and timelines. Individual will also be coaching and mentoring all levels of management including executive and senior leadership across all divisions on continuous improvement strategies and techniques, requiring the need to foster respect and trust to inspire these individuals to pursue continuous improvement excellence in their given area. In addition, this individual will assist in the development and regular delivery of advanced continuous improvement principles and practices to all agency staff.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Assist Executive Level Management of Strategic Solutions and Agency Transformation, Lean Transformation Staff, and the Agency Executives in the design of continuous quality improvement (CQI) strategies to impact agency outcomes. Serve as the CQI champions statewide. Define CQI goals and objectives, facilitate and shepherd CQI teams using a data driven, evidenced-based Lean processes to ensure strategic objectives are met through root cause analysis and supporting agency management staff in implementing controls for sustainability. Utilize data analysis tools such as minitab and excel programs in this effort.
  • Work in conjunction with the Executive Level Management of Strategic Solutions and Agency Transformation, Lean Transformation Staff, and the Agency Executives to evaluate, report progress toward agency wide CQI initiatives, and make recommendations to the agency Director based on findings of data analysis.
  • Must be able to use Excel, Microsoft Word proficiently. Experience in SPSS, minitab, or other data software desirable.
  • Investigate new/existing technologies and business practices for practical and feasible implementation into divisional workflow and work with Information Technology for implementation when necessary.
  • Independently and/or in a multidisciplinary group, develop custom reports, queries, and analyses with little or no direction from supervisor.
  • Provide technical support for ongoing decisions regarding methodology, study design, data collection, data analysis, and reporting in regards to CQI projects.
  • Develop and maintain systematic automated processes for reporting with the use of basic statistical techniques and queries in completing reviews and CQI projects.
  • Use visual analytic presentation to build regional, operational, and departmental reports to provide insight to the DCS executive team and or field staff in regards to trends in practice and processes.
  • Thoroughly complete tasks timely as assigned.
  • Coach others on LDI principles and practice.
  • Attend and represent the divisions at project-related meetings with internal and/or external stakeholders.
  • Attend all division meetings as required by the Lean Transformation Staff.

What You’ll Need for Success:

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

  • Five (5) years full-time professional experience in program coordination, development, implementation, or related experience. Substitution: Accredited college training may substitute for up to four (4) years of the required experience.
  • Assist the Strategic Solutions and Agency Transformation unit as well as all of DCS in the creation and ongoing enhancement of a continuous quality improvement review process.
  • Ability to create and train on curriculums around the scope of CQI and state reviews staying within allotted timeframes.
  • Ability to facilitate groups of people as a trainer, in meetings and group projects professionally with data and practice cohesively interwoven and presented.
  • Ability to use Excel, Microsoft Word, Minitab. Ability to be trained in the use and understanding of Tableau. Use of statistical analysis tools are desired but not necessary.
  • Training in Lean Principles and practice is desired but not required.
  • This position requires extensive statewide travel weekly. This position will be required to travel at least one week each month which will include overnight stays for the entire week.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
