Legal and General America is looking for a Senior Data Solutions Analyst to help design, expand and create value from a leading data platform in the financial services industry.
The Senior Data Solutions Analyst will contribute to the growth of our IT analytical capabilities. They will help the Data Solutions practice deliver excellent data products while adhering to key analysis principles and following best practices. The Senior Data Solutions Analyst will work closely with our IT data teams and business partners to deliver solutions that meet our IT reporting, and analytical data needs. As a Senior Data Solutions Analyst you will get the opportunity to develop your skills and collaborate across Legal & General’s US based and international teams in an engaging and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities
- Partner with key data consumers in Business Intelligence, Data Science, and other business areas to define data needs and data products that will enable the organization to deliver on business objectives and growth initiatives.
- Complete analytical work including research and report generation using both SQL and Databricks.
- Contribute to new user stories for Data Engineering resources that provide the technical guidance necessary to achieve business data objectives.
- Meet with business stakeholders and translate their requirements into user stories for development teams.
- Design comprehensive data collection strategies that will lead to the creation of high quality data assets.
- Work cross-functionally with change and engineering to solve complex business challenges.
- Participate as a key contributor in business process optimization efforts, leveraging your data expertise to help improve enterprise software products.
- Develop strong knowledge of the US life insurance and retirement domain.
- Collaborate effectively as a part of a strong global team with a mix of employee and consultant/contractor resources.
- Contribute to a diverse and inclusive team environment that is open, informed and empowered, in order to deliver maximum value to the business.
- Maintain a thorough on-going knowledge of emerging data technologies, as well as industry and market trends.
- Efficiently and proactively identify data discrepancies and advocate for data quality and integrity.
- Demonstrate the capability and desire to learn emerging skills and/or programming languages that can improve our enterprise data platform.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or Business Analytics.
Experience/Knowledge
- 6+ years of experience in technology, software/data engineering, and/or process improvement.
- 6+ years analyzing datasets and building data products via SQL, Python, or Databricks.
- Experience with Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning, and related areas would be beneficial.
- Experience integrating and building data and analytics solutions.
- Experience within the financial or life insurance industries desirable.
- Experience with Azure cloud data solutions desirable.
- Experience with Lifepro/Btrieve desirable to assist in legacy data migration.

- Experience with Lakehouse architecture desirable.
- Experience with Azure ML and Azure Purview desirable.
- Experience with Power BI and Tableau desirable.

What’s in it for you?
The expected hiring compensation range for this position is $101,300 – $139,250 annually.
The total compensation package for this position may include other elements, such as a sign-on bonus, long term incentives, and annual bonuses. This role is eligible to participate in the Legal & General America Annual Incentive Plan. The current target payment for the position is 20% of base salary, modified for corporate and individual performance. Bonuses are pro-rated based on start date. This role has 20 vacation days and 10 sick days that are accrued on a bi-weekly basis. Employees also have 9 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
