Key job responsibilities
As the Director of AWS China Security, you will be responsible for identifying and tackling the most intrinsically difficult business and security challenges. This role brings clarity and simplicity in the face of complexity, probes assumptions, illuminates pitfalls, and drives understanding. You will be responsible for understanding and driving AWS security controls, mechanisms to deliver security outcomes, and supporting technology solutions to continuously improve for scale, efficiency, and quality in-line with customer expectations. In your role, you will seek to remove bottlenecks or architectural complexity that slow innovation or present a critical business risk
A day in the life
This is an exciting opportunity to own defining and executing the AWS Security strategy for China. You should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about risk analysis and competing priorities. We are looking for a highly motivated Director with security and compliance expertise, hands-on experience working with businesses and regulators operating in China, and proven ability to influence technical, business, and policy objectives. You will need to demonstrate the ability to think ahead beyond the challenges of today and drive outcomes to overcome compliance and security operational challenges.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 15+ years of experience in security related leadership roles or domains working in technology domains
• 5+ years of experience working with businesses or regulators in China
• 5+ years managing geographically distributed teams within a complex global organization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
• Understanding of cloud computing technology
• Demonstrate innovative security approaches in non-traditional IT environments
• Have experience driving security programs across large diverse organizations
• Expertise in Security and China
• Experience in building and leading a multi-team, cross-cultural, multi-geographical organizations
• Security risk analysis and tradeoff decision-making
• Influencing technical, business, and policy objectives

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $219,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $326,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
