You will be a part of highly creative and efficient BIM team tasked with tackling the most fascinating and challenging problems in designing, construction, and operating Amazon owned Data Center facilities. You will be responsible for working with the organization’s BIM leadership to implement full building life cycle BIM strategy for our design, construction, and operations processes by helping to develop and implement our Innovation and Strategic road-map.

Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities will include working on all aspects of the entire Data Center life cycle starting with design, construction, and maintenance of Data Center BIM models for the Americas Region. You must be able to work independently and work within a team environment to accomplish assigned tasks. This includes working with internal teams as well as external suppliers, consultants, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors. Your duties will include:
– Oversight of all aspects of the Data Center life cycle starting with design, construction, and maintenance of Data Center BIM models.
– Work to establish and maintain a common data environment, along with processes, procedures, and security around the AWS design team’s information exchanges.
– Ensure Information Models meet AWS standards and are following the Exchange Information Requirements (EIR).
– Establish information structure and standards for the information model, coordinate output formats, and validate data quality.
– Establishing responsibilities for the provision and compliance of information and its level of detail for each project stage.
– Work with consultants, vendors, suppliers, construction teams to coordinate and maintain BIM models throughout the build process.
– Assist project team members in assembling information for project outputs
– Assure delivery of information exchanges.
– Develop and track asset information within the models.
– Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations, from design through construction.
– Work as part of an internal Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) design team.
– Review consultant BIM documentation, BIM files, coordinate output formats, and validate data quality, collect design documents and files for projects.
– Assist with establishing and maintaining BIM standards, processes, and workflows.
– Educate and train internal teams in BIM software, procedure, and best practices.
– Assist in creating and maintaining standard regional and global templates and content libraries.
– Prepare and coordinate project BIM Execution Plans.
– Lead project BIM coordination meetings with internal and external teams.
– Create and maintain Navisworks project design files for internal MEP teams and coordinate with external consultants.
– Assist in design coordination meetings with other trades for clash detection and resolution.
– Coordinate with design, procurement, construction, controls, and operations to create and maintain as-built and asset management models.
– Creation, recording, and reporting of key metrics to management.
– Travel to Data Center sites for General Contractor BIM coordination and engineering evaluations and surveys as required. On Average two to four times a year.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of design/construction experience.
– 4+ years of experience working with Revit.
– 2+ years of experience working with Navisworks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture.
– Experience in the establishment and management of BIM & VDC models including orientation, geo-positioning, coordination and the set-up of model reviews.
– Excellent organization skills in archival & maintenance operations of project documents.
– Organized and have the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
– Experience directly related to Data Center design and construction.
– Experience and knowledge applying Lean principals to design modeling and drawing production.
– Experience exporting of embedded data and schedules from BIM models to spreadsheets.
– Experience with developing Revit Family content.
– Experience with the following software tools: AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Dynamo, RF Tools, CTC Tools and Procore.
– Experience observing construction, familiar with construction technology, familiar with construction practices.
– Experience driving a team to implement new BIM tools, procedures, best practices.
– Meets/exceeds Amazon’s Leadership Principles requirements for this role.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $93,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
