Department Overview
The Electric Safety and Quality Management (ESQM) department provides safety and quality oversight for Electric Power Generation, Transmission, Substation and Distribution. The Safety Program Management Office (PMO) partners with the Enterprise Health and Safety (EH&S) team to provide strategic guidance to improve our safety culture and performance. The ES&QM program implements an integrated strategic audit approach concentrating on key company focus areas that are a function of risk, regulatory impacts, compliance maturity model attributes, key regulatory issues, and line of business requests.
Position Summary
Manages aspects of program development, implementation, and operations, focused on providing support for Electric Grassroots Safety Teams. Oversees administration of projects requiring strong organizational skills, a background in project management, Electric Operations, and safety. Reports out on the key performance indicators of the organization and collaborates with EH&S and the Enterprise Grassroots Initiative partners.
Supports Electric Grassroots Safety Teams (GRSTs) by:
- tracking action items and coordinating SMEs to accomplish goals of the Electric GRSTs
- maintaining a directory of Electric GRST membership
- maintaining the Electric GRST calendar of meetings
- collaborating with the Enterprise GRST and Regional Safety partners to ensure alignment
- escalating actions to the Electric Safety Council as appropriate
- coordinating meeting schedules for Electric GRSTs
- facilitating sub-committee meetings to drive meeting structure and continued improvement
- managing other responsibilities as assigned
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although, we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Annual Minimum: $102,000.00
Annual Maximum: $152,000.00
Job Responsibilities
- Completes moderate to complex problem solving and takes a new perspective on existing solutions, plans, and goals.
- Works independently on most issues.
- Provides direction on overall program plan and goals.
- Responsible for most deliverables within the program implementation plan.
- Communicates findings and recommendations to various levels of management.
- Develops new and ad-hoc reports, summarizes findings and recommendations, and provides business insight.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Six (6) years of related experience or equivalent
Desired:
- Two years of experience working in Safety Management/Culture
- Two years of experience working with/on Grassroots Safety Team
- Advanced knowledge of Program Management
- Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to various levels of management.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with demanding time constraints.
- Knowledge and understanding of business drivers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage or direct teams
- Ability to work within a Regulatory environment
- Ability to assess and recommend solutions for assigned projects
