About the position
Officiate adult sport programs in a fair and accurate manner. Act in a professional and courteous manner and to exercise good judgement and common sense at all times. All games are on outdoor courts or fields. Hours vary, based on the sport. Most work is on weeknights with occasional weekend tournaments.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Must be familiar with all State rules and all local rules, regulations and policies.
- After assignments have been scheduled and published, each official is expected to accept responsibility for completing their assignments or for finding an appropriate substitute from the officials’ roster.
- Call the scoreline with the results of all games officiated by 12:00 noon the following day.
- Uphold the integrity of the recreational sport and report any unsportsmanlike conduct.
- May be required to help setup facility for athletic play.
- Work cooperatively with city staff, other officials, team managers, and players in running a recreational program.
- Act in a polite and courteous manner and represent the city in the most professional way.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Responsible and confident individual
- Ability to control the flow of the game
- Ability to work effectively with people from all cultures and backgrounds
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of experience in officiating desired adult athletic program
- Demonstrated cultural competence and comfort with supporting the city’s strategic objectives for racial equity
