We’re seeking a future team member in the role of DATA GOVERNANCE to join our ENTERRPISE DATA MANAGEMENT team. This role is in Pittsburgh, PA – HYBRID.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Develop products and services that can positively change the way our firm operates, by elevating the way data management is performed and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Interact with other high-performing teams within BNY Mellon to drive innovation, foster closer integration and collaboration throughout the bank. You will also have the opportunity to influence decisions on platform strategy, internal client engagement and implementing technology-based solutions to enable easy adoption and utilization of Enterprise Data Management products and services.
  • Drive and build out valuable, high impact, high visibility business use cases on Solidatus
  • With your working knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices, support and elevate Data Lineage strategy with a view to integrating data quality and controls so that internal stakeholders are able to interact with the data they care most about, in a holistic and intuitive way.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Experienced hands-on Data and Metadata Management, from concept to implementation with a demonstrable track record of delivery
  • Strong stakeholder management and people skills, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities under pressure. You will have strong analytical and management skills, are familiar with Agile methodology and played an active role in scrums such as backlog refinement, sprint planning and execution. The ability to apply backlog prioritization to define sprint goals and enable iterative deliveries is key
  • Experience with complex data structures and ingestion methodologies to curate data with an interest on how core areas in applied machine learning such as NLP, computer vision, and personalization can accelerate successful outcomes
  • People Leadership, be able to inspire and build momentum across a global team but you are also a team player, happy to roll up your sleeves when needed.

Our Benefits:

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $79,000 and $130,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and company- sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.”

Bachelors degree in computer science, actuarial science, finance, economics, mathematics/statistics or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.5-7 years of total work experience preferred. Experience preferred in ensuring departmental data integrity, assessing and monitoring data quality issues against policies. Creating business logic and rules, creating, editing, modifying, sharing and restricting access to data, monitoring and/or escalating data quality issues until resolution, attesting to data integrity as delivered to users, data tiering and data metering, remediating unresolved data incidents, defining the health and proper usage of owned data throughout the enterprise, serving in a data governance role in financial services..
