Arcadis is seeking a qualified Assistant Resident Enginner – Electrical to join our team in New York.

Role description:
As an Assistant Resident Engineer, you will primarily supervise and manage construction management/engineering field staff for the rehabilitation or replacement of electrical systems and components including but limited to transformers, switchgear, panelboards, airfield lighting systems, constant-current regulators, lighting, cabling, and grounding. Voltage systems range from single phase 120V single up to three-phase 4160V as well as low-voltage systems such as Fire Alarm, Controlled-Access, and CCTV. Worksite locations vary from buildings, substations, and manhole systems located throughout the airport and is part of the Port Authority capital projects. Will report to the Resident Engineers at John F Kennedy International Airport Resident Engineer’s Office.
Role accountabilities:
- Manage direct reports, including Engineers, Electrical/Mechanical Engineers, Office Engineer, and Construction Inspectors.
- Ensure submittals, schedules, insurance, and contract requirements are submitted and approved.
- Chair meetings with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders, and prepare meeting minutes.
- Verify material inspection and testing, and maintain inspection records and documentation.
- Handle correspondence between the owner and the General Contractor.
- Review and process change orders, contractor pay applications, and contractor change order requests.
- Monitor contractor progress against approved construction schedule.
- Assist with project close-out and prepare documents for official submission. Stand in for the Resident Engineer as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- P.E. License and/or R.A. preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) or more years’ progressively responsible construction management and inspection experience.
- Experience in electrical utility installations, substation equipment installation, and power/lighting installations.
- Full knowledge of Contract Documents and ability to ensure work is in accordance with drawings, specifications, codes, and standards.
- Trained in fall protection, scaffolding and ladders, confined space, lockout/tagout, Work-zone Safety, and 30 hr. OSHA construction safety training.
- Familiarity with BOCA, NYC Building Code, and other applicable codes and standards.
- Familiarity with Primavera and Expedition/Contract Manager is desirable.
- Preferred Certified Special Inspector – NICET Level I & II Fire Alarm Inspector.
- Ability to work late, early, nights, weekends, and pass a background check for Aeronautical (Airside) Access.
- Valid Driver’s license required.

The salary range for this position is $103,000 – $154,000.
