The Role: SVP, Ad Sales

The SVP is an essential member of Captivate’s Ad Sales leadership team reporting directly to the CRO.

The SVP is a revenue generator (Player/Coach) responsible for leading a talented team of sales reps. The team is responsible for advertising inventory monetization across digital displays located in commercial office buildings, high rise residential venues, and at over 190 WeWork locations across North America.

The SVP will manage a book of business with several key agency holding company partners inclusive of leadership, strategy, emerging channels, and investment teams (OOH specialists, digital, video, addressable, programmatic, and trading desks).

This position is based in our New York City office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage, lead, and inspire a team of ad sales reps.
  • Deliver revenue as an individual contributor.
  • Ensure that individual and team revenue targets are met or exceeded quarterly and annually.
  • Regular activity and pipeline reporting to senior management.
  • Partner closely with other internal stakeholders to establish creative sales strategies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Pricing, Planning, Marketing, and other sales-related functions.
  • Create advertising solutions that lead to new business development, strong renewals, and long-term partnerships.
  • Travel extensively (must be able to go to Chicago and LA once per month).

What You Bring:

  • Minimum of 10+ years sales experience in the media industry. DOOH preferred, but not required. Programmatic experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading an effective sales team.
  • A proven track record of meeting and exceeding your own individual and team sales targets.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • A positive, collaborative, and entrepreneurial leadership style in a high-growth, sales-oriented, sociable and results-driven, environment.
  • Comfort managing through change.
  • An established rolodex of relationships at agencies. (Dentsu, Horizon, Publicis)
  • Proven success winning new business and closing deals in a goal-oriented, highly accountable, sales environment.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.
  • Superior communication skills, including face-to-face presentations, phone, and email.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the capacity to think and plan strategically.
  • Natural ability to translate technical concepts into compelling, solutions-oriented stories.
  • The ability to structure, negotiate, and close advertising opportunities working within best practices guidelines.

  • At Captivate, we have a strong office culture and work in-person Tuesdays to Thursdays, with the option to work remote on Mondays and Fridays.
