What We Need:

We are seeking a customer-focused and resolution-oriented individual to act as the customer advocate while consistently representing Smithers-Oasis in a positive manner. This individual will support our Design Master® division and should have a collaborative partnership approach, excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in MS Excel, with superb attention to detail, and be able to drive issues to a positive resolution.

Essential duties and responsibilities of the Customer Service Representative include (but are not limited to):

  • Processes customer orders (via phone, fax, and electronically); when applicable, the ability to accurately hand key an order
  • Ensures accurate pricing and terms of sale
  • Schedules shipments in accordance with customer expectations and established business rules
  • Creates and completes documents for all export shipments (IMO, SLI, CI, COO) with extreme accuracy
  • Works with shipping agents, drayage companies and the Design Master warehouse team to ensure smooth shipment pickups for all export shipments
  • Sends signed export documents via courier service to various global locations
  • Maintains accurate and orderly customer files; ensure timely filing of required documents
  • Monitors order status by tracking activities necessary for accurate and prompt service to the customer; providing order status to customers as requested. Works with distribution, logistics company and credit department to ensure orders are shipped on time
  • Participates in and supports Smithers-Oasis continuous improvement activities
  • Supports and leads by example the Core Values of the organization

Who We Are Looking For:

  • An individual with a high school diploma is required; an Associate degree in related field is preferred
  • An individual with 2-4 years of related experience in a customer contact role or a combination of education and experience
  • Experience with export shipping and creating shipping docs is preferred
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written), customer service and organization skills
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks with tight deadlines
  • Excellent computer skills for PC (Excel, Word, email, etc.)
  • An individual who applies skills to make team contributions
  • An individual with strong attention to detail

What We Offer:

This is a Full-Time IN PERSON position with a work schedule of Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.Additional hours may be required based on business needs. Candidates must reside in NE Ohio.

The salary range for this position is between $20.00-$22.00 per hour.
