Student Graphic Designer
Responsibilities
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, produce and prepare collateral for printing using departmental-approved desktop publishing and design software.
- Create visual aspects of materials, websites, and other media as assigned.
- Draft concept of design in a rough layout of art; focuses on the arrangement, size, type size, and style related to aesthetic concepts.
- Fulfill graphic design needs for each assignment within the message and brand guidelines of the university.
- Plans design concept as directed by the Art Director
- Make modifications and improvements to final layouts as needed
- Provide production completion services to senior designers
- Consult with Strategic Marketing team on cohesive designs that reflect Chapman culture and goals
- Adapt team illustrations and photographs to plan for the presentation of materials and products for the design team and partners.
- Assist with photography manipulation and archiving
- All other responsibilities as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITY
- One to two years of experience in graphic design, publishing, or public relations field.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral to generate a creative ability with the design team
- Ability to prioritize multiple and complex tasks and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Computer skills in the use of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat
- Ability to keep up with trends in computer graphic design and Web technologies
- Strong technical skills to learn enterprise systems and departmental tools
- Strong attention to detail, to develop and improve design and projects
Required Qualifications
Little to minimal prior experience. Ability to learn support process. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
