Position Summary:

The Senior Program Manager will coordinate a cross-functional team of subject matter experts throughout the company on work resulting from customer-driven projects, both agency and commercial customer large load interconnection projects. Projects will typically have several components requiring liaising between Service Planning, Transmission Planning, Substation and Transmission Line Project Management, and others. The Senior Program Manager role is a rotational opportunity to learn these large load interconnection projects and work with the other program managers with their existing programs.

The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of PG&E’s operations, be comfortable leading cross-functional teams, managing all aspects of a program including budget and timeline, maintaining strategic and analytical oversight, communicating with leadership as appropriate, developing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to the appropriate work planning and execution processes.

This position will require travel for on-site meetings with customers in the Bay Area and may also require occasional irregular work hours to meet deadlines.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

  • Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area) $102,000.00
  • Mid Base Salary (Bay Area) $127,000.00
  • Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area) $152,000.00

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or similar discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience managing capital expense budgets/projects
  • Comprehensive understanding of utility operations and work execution processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • PMP certification and / or MBA with an emphasis in a quantitative (e.g. Finance) or analytical discipline
  • Prior experience managing programs of high complexity and political visibility
  • Prior experience developing partnerships with external stakeholders for work execution

Responsibilities:

  • Manage budgets, timelines, resources, strategy alignment, and communications associated with programs in the State Infrastructure Portfolio
  • Develop partnerships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure program execution at each phase
  • Offer creative resolution of program risks and issues identified
  • Participate in integration of program activities with regulatory, corporate, and budget / resource planning activities
  • Assist in development of program performance metrics and compliance processes, aligned with appropriate governance protocols
  • Ensure appropriate project-level governance, as necessary
  • Act as a witness assistant, as appropriate
