Zurich North America is looking for an Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our Line of Business (LOB) Reserving team in support of our Property, Financial Lines, and Legacy Liability Lines of Business based in New York, Overland Park, KS, Schaumburg, IL OR Omaha NE.
LOB Reserving is on the leading edge of understanding Zurich’s current and historical performance. The Actuarial Consultant will work directly with Lead Reserving actuaries across ZNA’s seven Business Units.
LOB Reserving is a large team where you can hone your financial acumen by analyzing and providing insights in quarterly reserve studies, reporting rate change, providing data for strategic reinsurance placements, assisting in the creation and maintenance of automation for actuarial reports and tools, as well as enhancing the functionality of internally developed tools. You will also be part of a company and team focused on innovation, simplification, and continuous improvement.
The initial core responsibilities of this position include analyzing reserves and monitoring emergence in Excess Liability. Basic Qualifications:
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates Degree
OR - Bachelors Degree
AND - Successful completion of 5 or more actuarial exams (applicable to FCAS designation or equivalent international certification) with 2 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area
OR - Successful completion of 3 or more actuarial exams (applicable to FCAS designation or equivalent international certification) with 3 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management) and knowledge/skills reflective of a senior practitioner
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable range of compensation for roles. Compensation may exceed the salary listed based on the evaluation of skillset and experience. The starting salary range for the position is: $75,900.00 – $137,400.00.
