JOB SUMMARY
Delivers and assists in developing Commuter Rail Operations training with guidance from Rail Operations Training Leads. Evaluates and develops curriculum and coordinates training programs including customized retraining programs for existing personnel, consistent with Federal regulations. Assists FrontRunner management and Rail Operations Training Leads with developing short and long-term strategies and the training budget. Maintains a working relationship with the ATU and ensures compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreement.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Human Resources Development, Communications, Business Administration, Instructional Design, or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- Three years total experience, to include two years in rail transportation and one year of experience in the training field.
- Applicants need to either be currently certified as a Class 1 Locomotive Engineer or have been previously certified within last five years.
- Must have a valid Utah driver’s license.
- Must be a safe driver with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years. Have no convictions of driving under the influence of alcohol, any drug, or the combined influence of any alcohol or any drug within the last 10 years.
SKILLS:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft Office software proficiency at an intermediate level in MS Word, and Power Point , basic level skills in MS Excel and Outlook
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills
- Strong presentation and public speaking abilities
ABILITY TO:
- Acquire and maintain a DOT Medical card.
- Pass FRA required Train Service Hearing and Vision Exam
- Obtain and maintain operator and conductor certification
- Obtain and maintain Designated Supervisor of Locomotive Engineer designation
- Manage various cross-departmental stakeholders by influence and communications
- Interact with people at all levels
- Analyze training performance data, develop metrics and evaluate training program effectiveness

Pay Rate: $54,500.00 annually, or more depending on experience
