We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead the AWS Worldwide Commercial Sales Opportunity Pursuit Center of Excellence (OPCOE) team to build a best-in-class Pursuit team and Win Room. This role will collaborate with Sales, Leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to define and lead the team with a mission to increase AWS’ win probability and add value to every opportunity and proposal AWS delivers. This role will provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams assigned to support proposal efforts and will ensure the timely delivery of compelling, compliant proposal responses for every customer. This is a hands-on position – the ideal candidate must be willing to roll up their sleeves and dive deep.
The successful candidate earns trust through performance and relationship building, thinks strategically and analytically about our customer and business needs, and has a strong history in the proposal industry with global experience. You are a self-starter with a bias towards independent problem solving, a passion for identifying and eliminating bottlenecks, and the foresight to anticipate business needs, make tradeoffs, and balance business dynamics despite constraints. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage through ambiguity and complexity, and constantly seek ways to invent and simplify business processes.

Key job responsibilities
– Define and lead AWS’s Opportunity Pursuit Center of Excellence (OPCOE)
– Provide leadership and direction to cross functional teams assigned to support proposal efforts
– Ensure the timely delivery of a compelling, compliant proposal responses for our customers
– Brief leadership, opportunity managers, and other stakeholders on proposals and opportunity management activities
– Manage budgets, planning, and forecasting
– Develop and manage a highly matrixed, geographically-dispersed teams

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– BA/BS Degree required; advanced degree preferred
– 10+ years of experience in global proposal management, sales, and/or business development in a tech organization.
– 10+ years of team management experience, hiring and managing high performance teams.
– Strong financial, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
– Demonstrated ability to define, refine and implement sales processes, procedures and policies.
– Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
– Excellent cross group collaboration skills and proven ability to influence others.
– Ability to articulate complex concepts to cross-functional audiences.
– Highly organized, have multi-tasking skills, and efficient in ambiguous situations.
– Ability to operate successfully in a rapidly changing environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– MBA or equivalent
– AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CCP)
– Experience communicating with and influencing Senior Leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $140,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
