The Boeing Company is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer (Associate/Experienced) to join our team in Mesa, AZ or Colorado Springs, CO.
This position will support the Boeing Advanced Ground Architecture (AGA) organization.
We are seeking DevSecOps Engineers to be innovators and leaders in the development of our nation’s next generation of satellite and space flight ground systems.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Experienced Level Software Engineers.
As a team member, you will work as an integral part of our Continuous Integration Platform team delivering exciting new features for our Satellite Operations and Ground System products.
The specific focus for the DevOps Engineer is on development, automation and optimization of the development and platform management lifecycle.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and sustain continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for automated builds, test and deployment of the highly available, mission critical software
- Create automated tooling using python, bash, ansible, terraform and GitLab CI to assist teams with build and development systems
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some/most work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring teams’ discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
Security Clearance/Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements is required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
- Experience with a public cloud provider, ideally Amazon Web Services
- 1+ years of experience working with Unix/Linux distributions using command line terminals and GUI based desktop environments and shell scripting
- Experience in a collaborative team environment using agile principles and a structured development process including code reviews and automated DevOps processes/tools
- 1+ years of experience in software development using Java and/or JavaScript
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience working with Unix/Linux distributions using command line terminals and GUI based desktop environments and shell scripting
- 3+ years of experience in software development using Java and/or JavaScript
- Gitlab CI experience is highly desired
- Amazon Web Services certification highly desired
- Proficient in technologies such as Kubernetes, Istio, Rancher, Openshift, Git, Helm, Ansible, Chef, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana, or AppDynamics
- Working knowledge of the CI/CD process including debugging, test, and integration of software tools
- Experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using a DevOps tool chain (Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc)
- Experience developing containerized microservices deployed into a cloud based orchestration framework such as AWS, Docker Swarm, or OpenShift
- Experience with application performance analysis and monitoring
- Experience using NPM for Javascript build and dependency management
Typical Education:
Associate (Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Pay Range Summary:
Associate (Level 2)
$85,000 – $115,500
Experienced (Level 3)
$104,550 – $141,450
