Role Summary

The Investigative Due Diligence Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Rivian Strategic Business Intelligence Sr. Program Manager. The Analyst will use business intelligence sources, internal and external assets, and open-source media to identify and help mitigate risks and loss to the company. The Analyst will detect, analyze, and advise on adverse risks to supply chain, vendor relationships, and brand risk which may impact employee and business safety, security, and operational continuity. The analyst will mine, develop and present data into functional visualizations and reports. This role also requires developing and maintaining strong cross-functional partnerships. This person will operate independently, with minimal guidance and be a self-starter. You’ll be expected to operate in the grey, think outside the box and be a critical thinker.

Responsibilities
• Perform Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) screens and reviews, in collaboration with relevant business partners. This includes sanctions, ultimate beneficial ownership (UBO), Know Your Customer (KYC), anti-money laundering (AML), and restricted party list (RPL) screens.
• Lead and represent the program as reputational risk domain lead.
• Perform searches utilizing database vendors to determine negative news on third parties or associated individuals and obtain due diligence information for prospective and new or existing customers.
• Serve as a liaison between program at-large and other business functions on third party due diligence requests. Identify opportunities to continuously innovate and improve enhanced due diligence and how our team can bring value to organization.
• Knowledge of Modern Slavey/Forced Labor and other due diligence best practices.
• Experience with supply chain tracing and mapping, conflict minerals and responsible sourcing.
• Create a comprehensive security risk report for high-risk third party and/or affiliated individuals that highlights red flags, adverse findings, and risks to business continuity and reputation. Inform and advise business leaders on risk evaluation.
• Continuously monitor status of existing third parties, from initiation through remediation closure. Address red flags or changes that may adversely impact Rivian’s relationship to third parties.
• Develop strategies to maximize data value to the organization through improved risk decisioning.
• Work with all parts of the business to identify and analyze threats to Rivian’s people, assets, operations, and reputation. Threats may include security, environmental, legal, reputational, operational, etc.
• Develop recommendations to mitigate risk across business sectors, including but not limited to Legal, Ethics & Compliance, Trade Compliance, Communications, People (Human Resources) supply chain, Procurement, Third-Party Risk and Sustainability.
• Build and interact with a network of business intelligence partners to ensure that Rivian is utilizing best practices to support a company-wide risk management and duty of care program.
• Build the processes and standards for analysts to create actionable intelligence that can be used to protect people, assets, operations, and reputation as well as influencing financial and legal decisions. Incorporate structured analytic techniques to ensure high quality intelligence products.
• Engage with the company at a strategic level to mitigate any potential risks involved in partnerships, business development, trade and expansion.
• Manage and analyze large data sets for quantitative analysis.
• Deliver verbal briefings to high-level stakeholders.
• Represent the company at industry events and speaking engagements.
• Ability to think creatively about addressing risk by working across departments.
• Perform data mining, data modelling and process data visualizations.
• Bring critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with superior communications skills.
• Perform link analysis and visualize findings for senior leadership.
• Gather business intelligence from a variety of sources including company data, industry and field reports, public information, or purchased sources.
• Assesses market strategies by analyzing related products, markets, or trends.
• Identify market risks for future product development by analyzing technology trends.
• Compiles business intelligence or trends to support actionable recommendations.
• Maintain knowledge of industry and business trends through communication with professional organizations, suppliers, customers, competitors, and other informed individuals.
• Summarizes financial, economic and environmental data reports for review by executives, managers, and internal stakeholders.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• 5-10 years’ experience in intelligence analysis, due diligence research, risk and controls management, or third-party risk management
• Have performed Due Diligence on M&A’s, JVs, and other strategic partnerships a plus.
• Working knowledge of compliance programs, solutions, processes, controls, and procedures
• Advanced degree in business, finance, international relations, legal or related field, or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge in developing risk frameworks, assessments, and other risk management-related activities.
• Familiarity with due diligence solutions such as: Aravo, LexisNexis, Thomson Reuters Clear, World-Check One, Kharon, Dun & Bradstreet, Dow Jones Risk Center, Sayari and Z2.
• Familiarity with purchasing software like SAP or Coupa
• Experience with S&P Suite or supply chain tracing software.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBi, Tableau, i2 Analysts Notebook or similar a plus.
• Works well independently and as part of a team.
• Effectively communicate complex topics verbally and in writing
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Outstanding relationship building and relationship management skill.
• Experience in statistical analysis with Excel, SPSS, and SAS.
• In-depth knowledge of SharePoint and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• CAMS, CCEP, CFE, CDDP or another related certificate a plus
• Prior automotive or OEM experience a plus

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for Palo Alto, CA based applicants: $130,000 – $150,000 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).

Salary Range for California based applicants outside of the SF Bay Area: $121,000 – $139,000 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
