This position is located in the Bureau of Information Technology Services, Richland County.

Are you the One? We are looking for an Endpoint Technician II who demonstrates excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills, along with patience, a customer-friendly attitude, and the ability to work in a team environment. Resolves complex issues requiring detailed systems and applications knowledge. Analyzes and identifies trends in incident reporting and devises preventive solutions. Meets the established Service Level Agreement when resolving assigned incident and requests tickets. Effectively communicates updates with customers in regards to open tickets via Agency phone, email, or messenger applications. Participates in all phases of IT audit engagements, including planning, identifying operational controls, evaluating controls, completing audit reviews, identifying deficiencies, and documenting process narratives. Performs selected engagements of information systems, applications, and related business processes to identify control weaknesses. Obtain, analyze, and assess information from multiple data sources. Document information gathered and methods used. Develop spreadsheets used for data analysis and reconciliation. Develop, track, and maintain IT Audit projects. Assist in developing effective communication of findings and control concepts both verbally and in reports to IT management. Participates in scheduled audits with external auditors and examiners. Serves as a resource in troubleshooting and solving complex technical issues. Documents work efforts to track activity and to help establish procedures for IT related problems more expeditiously. Participates in IT Service Desk process improvement and procedure documentation.

  • Demonstrates excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills, along with patience, a customer-friendly attitude, and the ability to work in a team environment. When needed; assists the Call Center team with phone coverage to prevent long holds or dropped calls. Receives and resolves incident and request tickets.
  • Resolves complex issues requiring detailed systems and applications knowledge. Analyzes and identifies trends in incident reporting and devises preventive solutions. Meets the established Service Level Agreement when resolving assigned incident and requests tickets. Effectively communicates updates with customers in regards to open tickets via Agency phone, email, or messenger applications.
  • Audits access granted to users by the IT Service Desk staff. Initiate and track remediation efforts for inappropriate privileges. Notifies management of any discovered irregularities.
  • Participates in IT Service Desk process improvement and procedure documentation.
  • Documents 100% of requests received in a Service Manager ticket.
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor’s degree and experience in automated information or communication system design, installation, operation, and repair.

Related experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year-by-year basis.

  • Lifting requirements: 20 lbs.

  • Knowledge of communication or information systems.
  • Knowledge of various software and hardware infrastructure and their uses.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to effectively manage and supervise a team.
