New York Life Investments, part of a $600+ billion investment management organization is seeking to add a floating rate bank loan and high yield bond trader to its High Yield Credit Group. Current assets under management in the Group’s portfolios exceed $25 billion and are growing. Portfolio strategies include institutional accounts, total return funds, and CLO portfolios investing in leveraged loans, high yield corporate debt and CLO tranches.
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Diligence and execute daily trading activities in non-investment grade credit with a focus on best execution.
- Highlight trading opportunities for relative value, yield and total return.
- Work with the portfolio managers and credit analysts to execute purchase and sale recommendations.
- Monitor existing portfolio holdings for performance and offer timely recommendations about portfolio positioning.
- Develop and enhance relationships with sell-side broker-dealers and trading professionals at other firms.
- Coordinate with operations team and NYL counterparties overseeing timeliness of trade settlements.
- Oversee the production of trading review reports for management, as needed.
Requirements of the position include:
- 7+ years of relevant industry experience with a strong background in floating rate loan and/or high yield bond trading with a thorough understanding of leveraged finance assets and markets.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of settlement operations and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CFA is a plus.
- Meaningful trading and investment experience with leveraged loans and/or high yield bonds, in SMA, CLOs or total return portfolios is preferred.
Salary range: $157,500-$237,500
