QA Manager

You’ll be responsible for maintaining technical and quality documents and ensuring their compliance with relevant food regulatory agencies. Here’s a breakdown of your job duties and requirements:

Job Duties:

  1. Generate and Audit Technical Information: Your primary task involves generating and auditing technical information, such as specification sheets, nutritional data, allergen statements, GMO statements, product safety details, formula breakdowns, Kosher and Organic certifications, SDS, and any other documents that may be specific to customers.
  2. Manufacturing Process Audits: Regularly perform audits of the manufacturing process to ensure quality assurance and adherence to established policies and procedures.
  3. Document Management: Create, organize, and maintain various documents for Adams, including internal control documents, customer files, and supplier files.
  4. Recalls and Traceability: Initiate and record mock recalls and traceability exercises to verify the company’s ability to respond to potential issues.
  5. Regulatory Compliance Recommendations: Offer recommendations to management based on current laws and regulations to enhance the manufacturing process and maintain compliance.
  6. QA Compliance Strategy: Implement a Quality Assurance (QA) Compliance Strategy to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and provide suggestions for the necessary activities and resources to support this strategy.
  7. Compliance Programs: Research, implement, administer, and coordinate activities related to compliance programs such as SQF, HACCP, Organic compliance (QAI), Kosher compliance, and other QA procedures.
  8. Regulatory Knowledge: Develop and maintain knowledge of state, federal, and customer regulatory requirements across all product categories, ensuring that products are in compliance.
  9. Problem Resolution: Review operations and collaborate with management, technical, and administrative staff to resolve quality issues.
  10. Customer Support: Act as the primary point of contact for Customer Services, providing timely and accurate responses to both internal and external customers. Complete customer documentation and information requests with great attention to detail.
  11. Regulatory Engagement: Participate in programs with food regulatory agencies to help the company stay aligned with evolving food safety guidelines.
  12. Professional Interaction: Maintain professional interactions with internal and external customers, vendors, and prospects in support of company initiatives.
  13. Safety and Sanitation: Adhere to and enforce safety and sanitation regulations, following all work procedures to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
  14. Other Duties: Be ready to perform any other duties assigned by management as needed.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • You should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Biological Sciences, or related fields.
  • Have 2-3 years of experience in Food Safety and Quality, including Internal Auditing, Document Control management, and Corrective/Preventative Action experience.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication, mathematical, and scientific skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, organization, problem-solving, decision-making, training, and interpersonal interactions.
  • Advanced knowledge of various compliance standards, including GMP’s, HACCP, SQF, FDA, USDA, FSMA, Organic, Kosher, and SDS.
  • Proficiency in using various computer software, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications.
  • Knowledge of Project Management is preferred.
  • Be capable of working with minimal supervision and performing well under pressure, understanding the impact of regulatory proposals and changes.
  • Obtain HACCP and SQF certification (required within 3 months of starting the position).
  • Be physically capable of lifting up to 35 lbs. and restacking pallets.
