Assistant Marketing Manager Description/Summary
This position serves as assistant manager to the Marketing Department at Lexington Center Corporation. A successful Assistant Marketing Manager should be able to handle a wide range of projects, have excellent organization and communication skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule. With mutual agreement, the Assistant Marketing Manager may work during normal business hours at the offices at Central Bank Center, as well as certain event hours at a venue of the complex in the evenings or on weekends.
This role will pay a salary of $21.15 to $22.60.

Lexington is an active and thriving market that is craving an active and welcoming venue for events. The heart of any thriving community is its downtown-and Lexington Center and the historic Rupp Arena are truly the heart of downtown Lexington and one of the most widely-recognized entertainment venues in North America. Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky is fast becoming THE must play venue. The 20,000-seat arena, affectionately referred to by some as “the Cathedral of College Basketball” is home to the National Champion University of Kentucky men’s basketball program and has played host to some of the most talented and award-winning musicians/artists in the world including U2, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Justin Timberlake, Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, and many others.
Central Bank Center is our convention side, with over 99k sf of exhibition space, 24k sf each of meeting and ball room space, 50k of hospitality space, 10k sf of flexible space, and over 2500 covered and uncovered parking spaces. Both venues are additionally joined in entertaining this area by the Lexington Opera House, showcasing Broadway talent through collaborative bookings of Broadway shows, small venue concerts, and local arts.

- Proofread content and marketing materials using strong creative and administrative skills
- Work with marketing team to create/design event-related artist gifts, fan activations and marketing materials
- Manage digital data: I.e. auditing audience research in Ticketmaster, geo-targeting options in Placer.ai, and other digital marketing systems.
- Manage marquee updates and schedule in coordination with events
- Oversee and manage community partnerships with grassroots level marketing initiatives
- Manage e-mail database sends, design, and data research
- Act as Marketing Manager on Duty for all assigned events
- Assist with all event documents, programs, projects, and duties as assigned
- Create and assemble event materials, record keeping and analysis
- Interact with event planners and collect essential information, including previous event activities and marketing recaps
- Research artists before events to tailor marketing efforts and activations
- Assist marketing department with any required tasks, including restocking supplies, updating or creating social media posts, sending press releases, developing or enhancing event images, and furthering community partnerships
- Create marketing plans with the marketing department based on researched data trends and trackable measures that ensures the best ROI
- Manage event recaps after each major event so we can assess what went well and what needs work
- Act as Central Bank Center (convention center) expert and represents the marketing team with community partners such as VisitLex
Qualifications
- Detail oriented and focused, needs to be able to work independently, with supervision
- Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or similar background; or 2-3 years’ experience in event or marketing fields
- Excellent computer skills are a must, basic graphic design skills are helpful, social media skills are desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Willing to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Event marketing experience preferred
