Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY
The GTR Electronics Technician will support Goodwill Industries of San Antonio in re-purposing/repairing computer and electronics merchandise to sell through the retail sales floor, e-commerce channels, wholesale, and commodity recycling. Work with team members in a friendly and courteous manner. Responsible for evaluating donated electronics and assessing value.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Following established procedures, prepare donated electronics for resell.
- Install operating software on computer.
- Perform minor warranty maintenance on electronics.
- Disassembly and parts salvage from electronics.
- Perform basic component/parts testing.
- Obtain software, patches, and drivers via internet.
- Enter basic inventory and other data in computer systems.
- Package, price and inventory items for resale.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards.
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and responding to questions and/or concerns in a positive, professional, and friendly manner.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED. Associates degree or technology program certificate strongly preferred.
- Associates degree or technology program certificate preferred.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a PC Technician or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of electronics components; mechanical knowledge/inclination
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds, move and stack computers and components
- Ability to meet production standards.
