Salary Range: $37,682 – $41,506 annually

This first-level professional position specializes in public contact work at the Missouri Division of Employment Security, Benefit Payment Control Wage Audits sub-unit. This position conducts investigations of possible overpayments of unemployment benefits by reviewing unemployment claims and earnings provided by employers and claimants. This position will also assist with recovering overpaid benefits and investigating claims for potential fraud.
What you will do:
- Conduct assigned investigations of possible overpayments (quarterly and New Hire investigations, tips, and benefit charges) and accurately adjudicate overpayment determinations
- Interview claimants and employers to obtain factual data regarding employment and wage information
- Review employment and earnings information provided by employers and claimants to determine if an overpayment of benefits exists.
- Provide claimants with accurate information regarding their unemployment claims.
- Review all related information pertinent to an overpayment appeal to verify the accuracy of overpayments and, if necessary, obtain additional documentation.
- Contact claimants to recover overpaid benefits and initiate collection actions when necessary.
- Review unemployment claims to identify and investigate fraudulent activities.
- Process return mail and update claimant’s address, as necessary
All you need for success:
Qualifications
- 4 years of relevant experience OR a Bachelor’s degree
Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
