The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) is one of Georgia’s four health agencies serving the state’s growing population of over 10 million people. DCH serves as the lead agency for Medicaid, oversees the State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) and Healthcare Facility Regulation, impacting one in four Georgians.

Six enterprise offices support the work of the agency’s three program divisions. DCH employees are based in Atlanta, Cordele and across the state.

DCH currently is in search of a dynamic Web Content Strategist, reporting to the Director of Communications. The webmaster is a multi-functional and cross-collaborative role that primarily writes, edits and manages daily stakeholder web updates. The perfect candidate will have solid written and oral communications skills with a keen eye for detail and project management. High proactivity in site maintenance is a must, proofreading copy for inconsistencies and inaccuracies, as well as working with teams to keep web pages fresh and relevant. This role is also pivotal in helping drive other digital and technical tasks, including supporting graphic design projects, facilitating monthly virtual board calls and other meetings via Zoom, shooting and editing creative employee and event videos, and writing employee articles for the DCHNOW! newsletter, among other duties.

Job Responsibilities
This high-performer should be prepared to advise teams and serve as a subject matter expert on web activity and best practices, trends and traffic metrics – and then make recommendations to act on the data based on shifting behaviors. Collaboratively and independently, this role looks for creative ways to implement breakthrough communications to support DCH’s vision and goals across earned, social and organic channels. This position is a hybrid position and will require on-site work.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit and proofread content for channels, including web, internal newsletter, social posts and more to help ensure messaging is clear and concise
  • Work collaboratively with various Department of Community Health divisions to resolve daily web content updates via web request tickets
  • Facilitate virtual board meetings and other meetings across Zoom or other platforms
  • Support development of creative visuals, including employee videos, PowerPoint presentations, e-fliers, digital display graphics, fact sheets, infographics, and more
  • Track and report site traffic trends
  • Support key agency initiatives
  • Act as a liaison to assigned team(s), and regularly meet to support areas’ unique communications needs across earned, social and organic channels
  • Support adherence to DCH standards and brand guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of communications or related experience OR Five years of communications or related experience OR One year of experience required at the lower level Communications Spec 2 (GSP041) or position equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience facilitating executive-level virtual meetings via Zoom or similar
  • Experience in videography, including shooting and editing video projects and inserting sound effects, music and transitions
  • Adobe Premiere Pro experience or similar tool preferred
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment that values creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, proactivity, timeliness, reliability and accountability
