The Dealer Sales Rep (DSR) is an outside sales role tasked to develop, maintain, and grow relationships with dealers, one-steppers, and home centers in the building material distribution business. The position reports to the Sales Manager and will serve part of the Northern California sales territory.
Responsibilities:
- Establishes and nurtures relationships with key customer personnel, including owners/principals, buyers and salespeople.
- Prospects profitable new business opportunities.
- Works with customers to identify needs and collaboratively develop solutions and programs to increase profitability, efficiency and/or safety.
- Grows the profitability of assigned accounts and territories.
- Partners with vendor reps to create primary demand for the products Weyerhaeuser distributes.
- Provides strategic direction and market intelligence to inside sales reps and commodity sellers.
- Identifies new product opportunities, service offerings, and potential vendor partners.
- Participates in internal efforts to improve safety, profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Responds to claims and service issues.

Our experienced operations team with over 40 LEAN greenbelts provides a safe and efficient delivery service. About our Wood Products Business We manufacture and sell an innovative collection of proven structural framing materials to the residential, multi-family and light commercial markets, and also provide seamless building solutions, from design to installation to support. This team moves fast, works smart and never stops pushing to be and stay number one in the industry.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of sales experience
- Ability to develop effective relationships Strong customer service skills and experience
- Proven success managing large, complex accounts, including: building and maintaining executive relationships, developing programs and promotions, negotiating solutions to improve profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrated success in closing the sale
- Possesses a minimum level of expertise in all structural frame products (completed Introductory Structural Frame training) including knowledge of the manufacturing process, product features and applications.
- Understands and can articulate the financial drivers of retail, wholesale and construction industry
- Able to travel overnight as necessary within assigned territories.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 5+ years sales experience in the forest products (or related) industry
What We Offer:
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $68,000 to $103,000. based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Sales Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus each quarter.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with paid vacation for up to 3 weeks to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 hours along with paid parental leave for all full time employees.
